Our Practice Areas
We're a foothills trial firm handling personal injury, civil litigation, and estate matters for Colorado clients, built to take a case to verdict when the other side won't deal fairly.
Where We Go to Work
Trial-Ready Representation Across Multiple Areas of Law
Whatever brought you here, the through-line is the same: experienced trial counsel, direct attorney access, and a willingness to litigate. Choose the area that fits your situation to see how we handle it and what to expect.
Personal Injury
We represent people hurt in serious accidents and stand up to the insurers that underpay them. Every personal injury case is handled on contingency, with no retainer and no fee unless we recover for you.
Civil Litigation
We litigate breach of contract, fraud, business torts, and related disputes for businesses and individuals. This is courtroom-driven work that locally based firms rarely handle with real trial experience.
Wills and Estates
For families planning ahead, we offer focused wills and estates services. It's a limited part of our practice, handled with the same direct attorney access as everything else we do.
Common Questions About Working With Us
What types of cases does The Fields Group handle?
We focus on three areas: personal injury, civil litigation, and a limited wills and estates practice. On the injury side that includes car and truck accidents, medical malpractice, premises and product liability, and more; on the litigation side it includes breach of contract, fraud, business torts, and related disputes.
Do you charge the same way for every type of case?
No. Personal injury cases are handled on contingency, so there's no retainer and no fee unless we recover for you. Civil litigation and estate matters are billed differently, and we'll explain the fee structure clearly in your first conversation so there are no surprises.
Will I work with an actual attorney or get passed to staff?
You work directly with Doug Fields, the firm's founding attorney, supported by Catalina Miranda, our senior litigation paralegal. There are no associates and no intake layer, so the attorney who evaluates your case is the same one who handles it from start to finish.
Do you actually take cases to trial, or just settle them?
We prepare every case as if it's going to a jury, and we've tried cases in Jefferson County District Court across 36 years of practice. That readiness is often what moves an insurer or an opposing party toward a fair result, and we go to verdict when that's what a case needs.
Are you local to the foothills?
Yes. Our office is in Conifer, in the communities we serve, not a downtown Denver tower. We represent clients throughout the foothills and across Jefferson and Arapahoe Counties.
